Looks good..

How did you go about cleaning the engine ?

I had an issue with my filter seal not sitting properly and sprayed oil over pretty much everything.

I was going to cover it in engine de-grease, let it a while then take a pressure washer over it (wide angle nozzle so as not to break anything) But I am bit afraid of getting the starter motor or drive belt wet - any bits that need covering or are sensitive ? was planning to cover the electrics in tin foil or similar.

Actually I just spray it with windex or fabuloso. Then I wipe down anything that I see that is extremely dirty. I'm just careful where I spray it. Then I hit it with the air compressor (sometimes I have to do this a couple of times) then I spray it with Engine dressing. Just a side note, my engine cleans up pretty easy because I clean it every 2 weeks,(yeah I know, I'm a little OCD about it).
From my inspection most electronic connections are sealed up pretty good. I have cleaned my engines on all of my vehicles Even sometimes with a pressure washer. I just keep the engine running and wash it down I'm just careful about it and I haven't ever had a problem. Hope this helps have a great day!

Just use a good de-greaser, rinse off with a hose or something low pressure.
Once done take soapy water and a sponge, no need to blast chemical water in the engine bay.
