You need to determine the power drain of the new headunit. Was this unit plug and play into the canbus connectors? Did you have to run new power to this unit? Is the new power tied to anything unusual like timers? I am thinking that with my Pat, my radio and all electrics stay on for 30 seconds after I turn off the ignition.

Just some food for thought.

Something is not installed correctly if you need to turn the headunit off when leaving the car. Did you do the install or was someone else dong it? The hu should have 2 power connections, 1 switched that turns the unit on and off with the key and 1 permanent to keep your settings and presets. What harness are you using to connect the HU? Something like this?

Jeez...what is up these days with all the incompetent installers running around? Thought they had welfare for people that couldn't learn a trade successfully.

Sorry...still burnt about my CB install, but that's crap man. Just because the dude didn't want to spend the time to figure it out, you end up with a "special" installation?

Installer was a mate/customer i used to work with in a Citroen dealer. Good mechanic but I didn't really want to spend $80-$120 on wiring if i did'nt have to.

set now works fine though i do need to switch it off when i leave the car. i have bluetooth on the unit and mp3 jack and it cost me ÂŁ102 stg. JVC KDBT11.

wiring was from autoleads.co.uk and was an iso connecter that their techinal suggested plus aerial adapter....cost...from a customer of ours approx ÂŁ15 stg.

thanks for the replies and info from all...tried it out last night and bluetooth is really clear on the phone. haven't tried playing misic files through it yet....
