Horn is dying...

I think the horn may have taken on too much water this past weekend from "playing" since it went from a "gurgling" sound to a even worse than before fading sound. I know the many have talked about changing the horn before, has anyone actually changed it and any tips to access it. I see it's behind the left bumper by the foglight, but doesn't look easy to access with tools.

Speaking of horns--has anyone retro-fitted their vehicle with a more "manly" sounding version? The stock horn makes my original jeep's horn sound VERY manly!

If you've changed your horn and like it's new sound, post it up and tell us where you got it. Also if you learned some time-saving tricks to get to the horn itself.

I gotta do something about that.

My horn starting dying 2 months ago and is really sick right now. Suppose that could be a safety issue as it is much quieter now and sickly sounding.

Mine has been replaced once, original never worked, you'd think they would check that. New one works, but some times is very low, usually at first, if I lay on it it grows louder, but even at it's best not too much of a warning. I've been thinking of replacing it, but not adding another, just something better in it's place.

Any suggestions for that?

I replaced my horn with one I picked up from Advance Auto Parts that advertised as being 130 decibels. It took over an hour just to get the old one out (we all know how STUFFED the engine bay is) and by the time I had the new horn wired in, it wasn't any louder than the old one.

So what's next on my list? Dual air horns!!

Just had my horn replaced under warranty. It had been really quiet and gurgly, then got better over time... Finally sounded normal by the time my parts arrived at the dealership. Fixed now.
By the way, at the same visit, I had a warranty replacement of the cargo cover (handle separated from the edge of the cover: plastic screw-bosses all sheared.
